Hand-tied, not glued.

The gold standard for long-term extensions. Custom hand-tied wefts sewn onto a beaded anchor row — secure enough for workouts, soft enough for everyday wear.

— What hand-tied means

Tied by hand, installed with intent.

Hand-tied wefts are exactly what they sound like — strips of hair tied together by hand at the top, with no glue, no tape, no heat. They're sewn directly onto a beaded anchor row that's woven into your natural hair.

The advantages over tape-in or glue-in extensions: no chemicals against your scalp, no adhesive residue, and a flatter, more invisible install. The disadvantage: longer install time and higher initial investment.

For most clients with thick or coarse hair — and for anyone who works out, swims, or wants maximum security — hand-tied is the right choice. We'll help you decide at consultation.

Hand-tied investment.

Two costs to budget for: the install (labor) and the hair (purchase). Final total quoted at consultation.

Install day.

Your first hand-tied appointment is the longest. Here's what happens in those 4-6 hours.

01

Color Match

We compare your hair to the extension hair under multiple light conditions. Custom-color the extensions if needed before installing.

02

Anchor Row

A row of small silicone-lined beads is installed across your scalp — the anchor for the wefts. Painless, secure, and invisible when finished.

03

Sew & Style

Each weft is hand-sewn to the anchor row with surgical thread. Final cut and style blends the wefts into your natural hair seamlessly.

— Why hand-tied wins

Built for real life.

Most extension methods don't survive a 5am CrossFit class, an ocean swim, or sleeping in a real bed without a silk pillowcase. Hand-tied wefts do.

There's no glue to dissolve in heat. No tape to slip in chlorine. No bonds to break under shampoo. The wefts are sewn to a bead-anchored row that moves with your natural hair — so workouts, swimming, sleep, and ponytails all happen without drama.

Questions guests ask.

Initial install starts at $400 for labor, with hair purchase separate ($400-1200 depending on length and color). Move-ups every 6-8 weeks are ~$200. Total first-year investment is typically $1,800-$2,800.
The install needs to be moved up every 6-8 weeks. The extension hair itself lasts 8-12 months with proper care — sometimes longer for premium Remy hair.
Yes — that's actually one of the best reasons to choose hand-tied over tape-in. They handle sweat, gym workouts, and even swimming better than other extension methods because there's no adhesive to break down.
When installed correctly and maintained properly, no. The bead-anchor system distributes weight across multiple natural-hair points instead of concentrating force on a few. Damage usually comes from incorrect install, missed move-ups (causing matting), or improper home care.
First appointment: 4-6 hours (includes consultation, color match, anchor row install, and weft sewing). Subsequent move-ups: 2-3 hours.
EasiHair Pro is one of the most rigorous extension certifications in the industry. Multiple stylists at Cynergy hold active EasiHair Pro certifications, meaning they've completed hands-on training in installation technique, tension management, and maintenance protocols.
Sometimes — it depends on your hair density. Fine hair can support hand-tied wefts only if installed with reduced tension and fewer rows. We'll assess your hair at consultation and recommend the right approach.
You'll get a written maintenance plan covering brushing (loop brush, bottom-up), washing (sulfate-free, no scrubbing at the root), heat styling (always with protectant), and sleep (loose braid, silk pillow). We also do a one-on-one walkthrough before you leave the chair.
