Hair is not our business. People are.

A 13-artist house in Wake Forest, North Carolina — built over twenty years by master stylist Cynthia Perry. This is the story of how a single chair became a Salon Today 200 honoree, five years running.

Cynthia Perry didn’t set out to build the most-awarded salon in Wake Forest. She set out to do hair the right way — every formula reproducible, every consultation honest, every artist trained on what the industry will be doing next, not what it was doing last year.

That standard built Cynergy from a single chair into the only Wake Forest salon holding the Salon Today 200 honor for five years. It’s the standard every artist on the team is trained to. It’s what every guest experience is measured against.

Cynthia is a master colorist, an EasiHair Pro certified extension artist, and the architect of Cynergy’s VISH-precise color management system. She lives in Wake Forest with her family and is most often found in the salon perfecting a balayage or training the next generation of artists.

Twenty years behind the chair. One standard.

About Cynergy.
The questions behind the brand.

Five-time Salon Today 200 honors. Twenty years behind the chair. Here's the story behind the standard — and the answers clients ask most.

Who founded Cynergy Color Bar?

Cynthia Perry founded Cynergy Color Bar in 2003. She has spent over two decades mastering color and extensions, and built a thirteen-artist team trained to her precise standards. Under her leadership, Cynergy has earned the Salon Today 200 honor five times (2021, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026) — the only salon in Wake Forest to hold that distinction.

What makes Cynergy different from other salons?

Three things, all verifiable. First — five Salon Today 200 honors from an industry publication that audits business operations, not just looks. Second — Green Circle Salon certification, the only third-party sustainability verification in North America. Third — every artist on the team trained personally to Cynthia's standards over years, not weeks.

We don't claim luxury. We document it.

How big is the team?

Thirteen artists. Each one specializes — color specialists, extension specialists, curl specialists. We do not have generalists. When you book, you're matched to the artist whose specialty fits your goal, not whoever has an opening.

If you're unsure who to book with, request a complimentary consultation and we'll place you with the right stylist.

What brands and products do you use?

Fifteen premium brand partnerships including Goldwell, Pulp Riot, Redken, Surface, Kerasilk, K18, and Olaplex. Every product on our shelf has been tested by our team before being recommended. We do not sell what we wouldn't use on our own hair.

For extensions, we are EasiHair Pro certified — using only Remy-grade ethically sourced hair.

What does the Salon Today 200 award recognize?

Salon Today 200 is an annual ranking by Salon Today magazine of the top 200 salons in North America. The judging panel reviews business operations, growth metrics, team culture, client experience, and creative leadership. Salons must apply with documented financials and operations.

Cynergy has been named to the list in 2021, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 — and was a 2024 Growth Honoree for 38.79% sales growth and a 2025 Business Builders honoree for launching the Perfecting Curly service.

What does Green Circle Salon certification mean?

Green Circle Salons is the only sustainability program for the beauty industry in North America with third-party verification. Certified salons divert hair clippings, color tubes, foils, applicators, and even excess color from landfills and waterways. Cynergy diverts 95%+ of salon waste through the program.

This is a real commitment with documented audits — not a marketing line.

How are your artists trained?

Every artist completes Cynergy's internal training program before working with clients independently. They also attend continuing education with industry leaders (Goldwell Master Colorists, Sam Villa, EasiHair Pro Academy) and Cynthia personally mentors each artist.

We invest in our team because they invest in your hair.

Where is Cynergy located and who do you serve?

We are located at 1970 South Main Street in Wake Forest, NC. Our clients come from across the Triangle — Wake Forest, North Raleigh, Rolesville, Franklinton, Youngsville, Heritage, Wakefield, and Wake Crossroads.

If you are driving more than 30 minutes, we recommend booking with extra buffer time and combining services into one visit when possible.
