Classic color, every time.

Single-process color for rich, even coverage from roots to ends — gray coverage, a refresh, or a whole new all-over shade. Logged by formula, so it picks up exactly where your last visit left off.

One process. Total consistency.

Single-process color is the workhorse of the color bar: one shade applied root to ends — or just at the regrowth line — in a single application. It’s the right call for all-over color, gray coverage, going richer or darker, or refreshing color that has faded.

What makes ours different is the record. Every formula is logged, so when you come back in six to eight weeks your colorist isn’t starting from scratch — they’re continuing the exact formula that worked. That’s why your tone stays true instead of drifting warm or patchy over time.

It’s also why a consultation is non-negotiable for new color guests. We see your hair, ask about its history, and write the formula before we ever pick up a brush — so the result is healthy, even, and exactly what we planned.

How classic color actually works.

Consultation & Formula

New guests start with a consultation. We assess condition, review your color history, and log your formula so it's repeatable — not re-guessed — on every future visit.

Application

Single-process color is applied root to ends, or precisely at the regrowth line, then processed and monitored for even, true-to-formula coverage edge to edge.

Gloss & Home Care

We finish with an optional gloss for shine and tone, then set you up with a simple home routine — sulfate-free shampoo and heat protectant — to protect the result.

Questions guests ask.

  • Root touch-up starts at $45+. Express root retouch for established clients is $40. Full color, root to ends, starts at $80+. Adding a gloss for shine or tone is $45+.

Final price depends on hair length, density, and the artist working with you. Your consultation will quote a firm price before any color is mixed.

  • Classic color is single-process — one formula applied to the roots or root-to-ends for solid, even coverage. It's the right choice when you want a consistent base color, full grey coverage, or to shift your overall shade darker.

Balayage and highlights are dimensional services that add lighter pieces throughout the hair for contrast and depth. Classic color is about depth and saturation; dimensional color is about brightness and movement.

  • Express root retouch: about 45 minutes. Root touch-up with gloss: 90 minutes to 2 hours. Full color root to ends: 2-2.5 hours.

If you're adding a finish blowout, add another 30-45 minutes. We'll always confirm the time block when you book.

  • Every 4-6 weeks if you want to stay sharp, especially for full grey coverage where regrowth shows clearly. If you're maintaining a color shift (lighter or richer than your natural), 6-8 weeks is the typical window.

A gloss every 4-6 weeks between full services keeps the tone clean and stretches the time between visits without losing the freshness.

  • Single-process color is one of the gentler color services because there's no lightening involved when you're staying at or going darker than your natural level. Modern professional formulas are dramatically gentler than what was on the market even ten years ago.

The risk isn't a single appointment — it's pulling color through the same lengths every visit. We use root-only application whenever possible and refresh the ends with a gloss instead of full color to keep the hair healthy over the years.

  • Single-process color can lift your natural hair 1-2 levels safely. If your goal is more than two levels lighter, or if you have previous color on your hair, you'll need a lightening service like balayage, foilyage, or in some cases a color correction.

Your consultation will set realistic expectations. We'd rather tell you upfront that single-process won't get you there than promise a result we can't safely deliver.

  • Yes — classic color is the standard approach for full grey coverage. Your colorist will adjust the formula based on the percentage of grey, the texture of the regrowth (resistant grey at the temples often needs a stronger pre-treatment), and the shade you're targeting.

If you'd rather blend your grey than fully cover it, we offer dimensional options like highlights or lowlights that camouflage the grey within your natural color and stretch your maintenance window from 4-6 weeks to 10-14 weeks.

  • Bring 3-5 reference photos of looks you love AND a few you don't — the "don't" photos are honestly more useful because they tell us exactly which directions to avoid. If you've had professional color before, bring details about your last few appointments: salon name, formula if you have it, and how long ago.

If you've used box dye, henna, or any over-the-counter color in the past, mention it during the consultation. These products can react unpredictably to professional color and your colorist needs to know before mixing anything.

Your shade, on the record.
